Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa Hires Logan P. Sandoval as Chef Tournant

Logan P. Sandoval has been named Chef Tournant at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa. Just prior to joining the Hyatt Regency Monterey, Sandoval was sous chef at the Hyatt Regency Louisville, where he had been since May 2013.

Sandoval has loved food and cooking from a very young age. In fact, he began cooking at the tender age of 9. After graduating high school, his mother, Natalie, urged him to attend culinary school to pursue his dream of becoming a chef. At the age of 20, Logan graduated from The Art Institute of Los Angeles with honors.

He started out his career working in fine dining in Los Angeles, and began his Hyatt career as a cook at Hyatt Westlake Plaza in November 2009.

He transferred to Hyatt Regency Columbus as a lead Garde Manger cook in October 2011, and later completed the Culinary Corporate Management Training Program at that property.

Sandoval was promoted to Sous Chef at the Hyatt Regency Louisville in May 2013, after assisting with the Kentucky Derby. Now he is returning to the surf and the sun of his native California at the Hyatt Regency Monterey.

He has a strong passion for all cuisines in general, but is particularly fond of Asian flavors and Southern techniques.

When not cooking, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Anna, and their daughter, Nalani. You will also find him at your local comic book store, collecting comics and graphic novels or writing reviews for movies and video games.
